Look, we get it. Walking into any martial arts school for the first time can bring some worries. Will you get injured? Will you look silly for not having prior experience? Instead of just telling you it's 'beginner-friendly,' let me show you exactly what happens in your first class.
✅ What to Wear:
Workout clothes (preferably nothing with buttons or zippers)
foot ware that’s easy to take off (no shoes on the mats)

Yes! As a beginner, you will join our “All levels class”.
The techniques you will learn in this class will always be digestible by a first time beginner. The instructor will pair you with other beginners, or with senior students who will guide you!

50% of our classes are “no gi” which means you do not need to have a uniform to train.
Regular athletic clothes will do fine to start!

Our classes are built to be scalable. If you’re in great shape, you’re going to have a great workout.
If it’s been a while since your last workout, no problem! You can scale down the intensity and volume in everything that you do in class!

We have classes in the early morning, late morning, and into the evening.
You can also mix and match the classes, you will have unlimited access to all of our classes!

NO! Jiu Jitsu is for all ages!
The average age of our adult students is about 30 years old! But we have plenty of students over 40 and 50.
Meet coach nick
Four years ago, I had a crazy idea: build a jiu jitsu school where people actually wanted to train.
Not because of fancy equipment or huge facilities—we started with some mats on a concrete floor and furniture I built from scrap wood. But because of something different: a place where everyone, from complete beginners to experienced grapplers, could train hard and have fun doing it.
Here's what I believe: Every person who walks through our doors deserves individual attention. I make it a point to learn everyone's name and understand what they're trying to achieve. Whether you're here to manage stress, get in shape, learn self-defense, or just try something new—your goals matter.
My background? I've been fortunate to compete at the highest levels—former King of the Cage MMA World Champion and multiple IBJJF black belt medalist. But honestly, what I'm most proud of is watching someone who was nervous about their first class become confident, strong, and part of our family.
My teaching philosophy is simple: have fun, but work hard. I'll push you to grow, but never beyond what's safe or what you're ready for. This isn't about creating killers—it's about creating confident, capable people who happen to know some pretty effective jiu jitsu.
