why prism jiu jitsu?
Learn from the best team in North County San Diego. Coach Nick is an MMA champion, and a medalist at the IBJJF no gi National, European, and World Championship. If you learn a technique from us, you know it works.
Our approach is simple. Meet students where they are, wherever they are. We encourage them, push them, and help them level up, until they realize what they had inside of them all along. We like to say “come as you, leave as more”.
Our mission is to provide an environment that helps people grow fitter and stronger. To create a class that helps people develop real skill. And to provide an experience that actually leaves people wanting to return.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
No. Most of our adult students walked in with no experience and varying fitness levels. The class structure works for beginners. We meet you where you are.
-
We train safely. Live rolling is optional, especially in your first weeks. Most injuries in BJJ come from ego or rushing — neither is part of how we coach. The number one rule on our mats is “take care of your partner”
-
Just yourself and water. Wear a t-shirt and shorts, no shoes on the mat. We have gis (uniforms) that you can borrow.
-
Two or three times a week is enough to make real progress. Most beginners start there. You don't have to live at the gym to get good.
-
That's fine. The free class exists so you can find out without committing money. If you come and it's not the right fit, no hard feelings.

We offer classes throughout the whole day. Starting at 6:00 AM and ending at 7:30 PM. We have classes that fit most schedules
